Eddie Deezen, best known for playing Eugene Felsnic in both “Grease” films, has been accused of several bizarre incidents in the past year, including writing lengthy, offensive posts about a waitress who was working at a restaurant in his Maryland hometown.
According to documents obtained by TMZ, the 65-year-old actor is considered a danger to himself and others around him and he will remain in the health department’s care until the court deems he no longer poses a threat.
Deezen was arrested after forcing his way into the nursing home and ignoring a woman’s request for him to leave.
The unnamed female told police that Deezen had been by her place a number of times before and usually leaves behind items with accompanying notes.
Security camera footage from a neighbor a few doors down showed the actor also approaching their house the same night and allegedly trying to open the front door.
‘AWM’ reports said:
TMZ obtained a commitment order document that states how sixty-five-year-old Deezen is no longer fit to stand trial. He was deemed incompetent due to a mental illness. He has since been transferred out of jail and moved to the Maryland Department of Health building, where he will be receiving treatment for his mental disorder.
The order obtained by TMZ states that Deezen is a danger to himself and other people. He will remain under the care of the Maryland Department of Health until professionals at the facility can determine that he is no longer a threat to himself or other people who are near him.
During the April 2022 incident, Deezen forced his way inside the nursing home and refused to leave the building after a woman instructed him to do so. The witness at the nursing home told police that Deezen got physical with people and pushed his way through the opening. She also said that he broke into one of the rooms at the facility before he was kicked out for the day. He was apprehended by police before the day was out.
Another individual who lives a few doors down from where Deezen was arrested said he has caught the actor on his security camera trying to get into his home as well. The neighbor claims he has footage of Deezen approaching his property on the night of April 8, and that the actor has tried to open his front door.
Deezen was arrested and charged with fourth-degree burglary, two counts of trespassing, and one count of disturbing the peace.
This is the second time the actor has been arrested in seven months.
