An Arizona woman had to be revived eight times and was technically dead for 27 minutes before she woke up. But she seemed to have made quite the trip in that period.
Tina Hines, from Arizona, went into cardiac arrest after collapsing before a hike in February 2018. She was revived by paramedics several times on the way to the hospital but was technically dead for 27 minutes in total.
Tina miraculously woke up in the hospital, surviving the ordeal. What was even more bizarre, however, was the message she passed on to her family. They were able to make out what she was trying to say.
The image of her handwritten note has since gone viral after Tina’s niece had the note tattooed on her arm. Tattoo artist Suede Silver writes “Had the opportunity to do a really special tattoo the other day, take a second to read the story you won’t regret it.”
She was intubated at the hospital, but awoke, to everyone’s surprise. But what came next left everyone stunned. As soon as she woke up, she asked for a pen and paper. And she left a chilling message to her loved ones.
In barely legible handwriting, she wrote, “It’s real.” And when she was asked as to what was real, she angled and nodded her head upwards. “It was so real, the colors were so vibrant,” Tina said. She also said that she saw a figure whom she believes was Jesus standing next to some bright, yellow, glowing gates.
Her niece, Madie Johnson, was so touched by her aunt’s story that she got the child-like handwriting tattooed on her wrist.
Sharing Tina’s story from her perspective, she writes:
“My Aunt Tina, one of the healthiest and most amazing people I know had an unexpected cardiac arrest and according to doctors had died and was brought back to life four times by first responders before arriving to the hospital. She was put on a defibrillator and after miraculously waking up the first thing she did, unable to speak because she was intubated, was ask for a pen and in my cousin’s journal wrote “it’s real”.”
The story continues “The people in the room asked “what’s real?” and she responded by pointing up to heaven with tears in her eyes.”
The images prompted other survivors to share their stories.
One person writes “Several years again when I was 17 I overdosed while attempting to end my life. I woke up and saw this beautiful light. And out of the light stepped my best friend who had died years before. She told me that I could see it and grabbed my hand and brought me outside into this beautiful field. It was so warm. She then said that I had to go and I couldn’t stay. I didn’t know why but then I woke up at the hospital after they gave me the paddles and that’s all I remember is that dream.”
Another says “On October 6th, 2013 I was in a near fatal car accident and was trapped in the car. My cousin got in the car as they cut me out. There was this warm yellow glow over us and I saw my Nanny’s face watching over us. I spent 4 months in the hospital and had 22 surgeries. “
