Colin Kaepernick was just caught doing something that is beyond the pale and very pathetic, and that’s putting it mildly…
Colin Kaepernick just needs to stop getting so thirsty, because frankly, at this point, it’s getting pathetic.
Those who haven’t been paying attention probably don’t realize that Kaepernick hasn’t played professional football in over five years and he is attempting a comeback by trying to tempt NFL teams into taking him. They haven’t gone for the hints that he was dropping, so now, this full-time social justice warrior is making a brutal, in-your-face attempt to these teams: give me another shot.
Despite the fact that the league is making it clear that they want Colin Kaepernick signed, the quarterback’s supporters are going to continue to insist – if he even get the chance – that it is only due to the result of a hidebound sport trying to keep a far-left individual out. Howwever, several reporters have pointed out why this logic is terribly flawed. The simple point is this: the former San Francisco 49ers quarterback is no longer in his game because his talent no longer justifies the risk. It’s a blunt truth, but it is one. It’s definitely a truth that liberals will not be able to stomach.
The latest message from the former 49ers quarterback seems to be that if you just bring him in for a try out, he will prove how awesome his talents still are. Really!
“Where my skills are, the best way to tell is to bring me in for a workout,” he told reporters earlier this week.
“We have no expectations of what teams will do. But we just want the opportunity to walk in the door and show them what I can do, and I think my talent, my skill set, will speak for itself.”
There was an interesting timeline that led up to this workout, with Kaepernick posting a video of himself working out and captioning it, “Still Working.”
Did you get the hint? No? Here’s Kaep just a few days later: “For The past 5 years I’ve been working out and staying ready in case an opportunity to play presented itself. I’m really grateful to my trainer, who I’ve been throwing to all this time. But man, do I miss throwing to professional route runners.” Oh brother.
This led to the blatant Kaepernick spring 2022 U.S. tour where he has worked out with New Orleans Saints wide receiver Jalen McCleskey, New York Giants Tyrod Taylor, Chicago Bears quarterback Justin Fields, and free-agent quarterback Josh Dobbs, according to Sports Illustrated.
His latest workout was with Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Aaron Fuller at the University of Washington, an alumnus of the school.
Now, of course, no one in the league is going to come out and say that Kaepernick should just give up the ghost. We live in too much of a “woke”, politically correct culture for that. Thus, the latest person that is dangling hope in front of him was Seahawks coach Pete Carroll.
“Does that guy deserve a second shot? I think he does,” Carroll said, although he didn’t acknowledge that Seattle was going to give him that chance.
When asked to respond to the remark, Kaepernick said he was “still waiting for that chance.”
“Still hopeful,” he said, per The Athletic. “There’s been a lot of conversation around it. We’ve had conversations with Pete and Seahawks general manager John Schneider previously. As Pete mentioned, we’ve spoken recently and still hoping that door is open and get a chance to walk through it.”
In all honesty, if Kaepernick gets a chance in Seattle then all the more power to him. There is no question that the Seahawks are a team that needs a QB after they were forced to trade away nine-time Pro Bowler Russell Wilson to Denver and they are left with former Broncos bust Drew Lock and Indy castoff Jacob Eason.
However, the fact remains that the Seahawks never signed Kaepernick in the first place and that is an indication that he is unlikely to ever play again.
Like Wilson, Kaepernick is a mobile quarterback, and Carroll is a liberal coach in a liberal city with a team that is led by a liberal ownership group. If someone decided to kneel in protest for the national anthem, it wouldn’t be an issue in Seattle. Heck, it’s just about a requirement for these Seattle wokesters!
The fact remains that Kaepernick was already on a downward trajectory when he started his protests, and that is why, even to this day, he cannot find a team that is willing to sign him! Seriously, he is like Drew Lock with baggage! No one wants a guy who has all of these distractions. It’s as simple as that.
The odds are against Colin, simply due to the fact that his skills really aren’t the best and no one wants a backup that would bring a circus with him. And really, why does Kaepernick need to be on an NFL team so much anyway? Is it just to satisfy his ego? It’s not like he is hurting for money…the dude can make plenty by being a far-left activist, and that’s all there is to it.
