This house listing seemed like any other real estate listing until potential buyers stepped inside. What they saw inside would make any sane person run in the opposite direction.
The house was located in Middlesex, UK, and looked pretty normal from the outside, but as soon as you step in through the front doors, you are greeted with a hideous disaster of a house, especially if you’re not a fan of the color purple.
The real estate agent must not have bothered to check out the interior of the home before listing it. The house was a disaster, with every corner and room bathed in the same in-your-face color – purple. The previous owners seemed to be obsessed with purple to the point that they tried to sell the house for a whopping $600,000 a few years back.
Despite purple being associated with royalty, this home was anything but royal. It just looked like someone was trying too hard to connect themselves to the idea of royalty, or maybe they were color-blind and couldn’t tell what color was what. The house was indeed unique, but it was not desirable in any way, shape, or form.
Surprisingly, the house did find a buyer. We don’t know how much they paid for it, but one can only hope they had a paintbrush and some neutral colors on hand. Most people would agree that the problem with this house could be solved with a few new coats of paint.
It seems that beauty is indeed in the eye of the beholder, as the previous homeowner thought their purple abode was beautiful. The real estate agent tried to advertise the house as having plenty of “family-inspired design,” but that was just creative advertising nonsense to trick someone into signing the paperwork.
In the end, this purple house may have found a buyer, but it remains a cautionary tale to all real estate agents – always check out the interior of the house before listing it for sale. No amount of advertising can cover up a disastrous interior like the one in this purple house.
