Ohio congressman Jim Jordan has listed the investigations that House Republicans should lead if they regain a majority in November’s midterms.
When asked by Fox News host Maria Bartiromo if he was going to investigate Fauci, the Ohio Republican answered:
“Yes. Yes, we definitely are,
If the American people put us back in charge, we are definitely going to do this, because we now know, without a doubt, that Dr. Fauci knew on Jan. 31 and Feb. 1 that this thing came from a lab.”
Jordan, the leading Republican on the House Judiciary Committee, proposed a probe into “all of the lies, misinformation, and disinformation” from Dr. Anthony Facui and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention on the COVID-19 pandemic.
“The top scientists in the country were saying it came from a lab. One scientist says we got the notes now from the conference call on Feb. 1. One scientist says, ‘I don’t see how this can happen in nature, but it would be easy to do in a lab,’” he continued.
Following the release of a report indicating that U.S. and British scientists initially believed that the coronavirus came from a lab in Wuhan but was not transparent about the suspicion out of concern for “international harmony,” Jordan, the ranking member of the House Judiciary Committee, made the remarks.
Several emails between Fauci and his colleagues reveal that many of the scientists were leaning toward the possibility of a lab leak origin for the virus based on it appears to be “engineered” and not appearing consistent with “evolutionary theory.”
Jordan continued,
“We just learned this last week,”
“The two doctors who were most adamant that this thing came from a lab early on: One is Dr. Kristian Andersen. On Jan. 31, 2020, he says this to Dr. Fauci in an email: ‘Virus looks engineered. Virus not consistent with evolutionary theory.’ So, he knew it came from a lab.”
