This is perhaps the most inspiring moment in recent memory…Someone who literally stands up to show his undying support to President Donald Trump.

On Saturday, Rep. Madison Cawthorn stood up from his wheelchair at a Donald Trump rally in North Carolina.

Rep. Cawthorn was paralyzed due to a car crash that happened eight years ago, however, during a rally Saturday with former President Donald Trump, Cawthorn was able to stand up from his wheelchair in his latest public address.

At the Selma rally, Cawthorn spoke to the conservative Republican base about fighting the “dark forces” that he claims now control the federal government. Cawthorn promised that if they “put America First patriots in power in Washington, D.C.” and “put Donald Trump back in command in the White House,” they would see change.

Cawthorn’s speech comes as the former president has hinted at running for a second term in 2024 and the congressman faces a contested primary in May in his Western North Carolina district on the other side of the state from Johnston County. Cawthorn called Trump the 45th and 47th president.

“We will embrace the spirit of our Founding Fathers,” Cawthorn said. “We will investigate Anthony Fauci and send him to jail for lying to Congress.”

The Gateway Pundit was one of the first to report this remarkable moment:

During his speech today Madison Cawthorn stood up from his chair and finished his speech. It was a remarkable moment. Madison then promised to investigate Dr. Tony Fauci for his crimes and impeach Joe Biden for his dereliction of duty. The crowd loved it!

When his speech was over he moved back to his chair and sat down by himself.

This was a special moment for a special young man.

Since his election in 2020, Cawthorn has been a prominent figure in Congress.

Cawthorn stands up for his own beliefs, he often uses his popular Twitter account to speak out against progressive politicians.

Cawthorn had been in the news for a variety of reasons, before Cawthorn’s address in a rally Saturday with former President Donald Trump.’

The lawmaker made headline by claiming that there are fellow legislators engaged in depraved sex- and drug-fueled parties, and one of them who reacted harshly to Cawthorn’s allegations is House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA)

More from CBS News report:

McCarthy told reporters on Capitol Hill that he told Cawthorn during a private meeting that the first-term congressman “lost my trust,” and the allegations Cawthorn had made during a podcast interview last week were “exaggerated,” according to Axios.

“It’s just frustration. There’s no evidence behind his statements,” McCarthy said, according to reports, adding, “I told him you can’t make statements like that, as a member of Congress, that affects everybody else and the country as a whole.”

The GOP leader said Cawthorn’s comments upset many lawmakers, and he warned Cawthorn could face consequences for what McCarthy said are “unacceptable” remarks.” McCarthy also told reporters that Cawthorn acknowledged some of his claims were “exaggerated.”

“In the interview, he claims he watched people do cocaine. Then when he comes in he tells me — he says he thinks he saw maybe a staffer in a parking garage from 100 yards away,” McCarthy told reporters.
