What Mark Cuban Just Did To A Small Texas Town Is Absolutely Insane!

Uncategorized

The billionaire owner of the Dallas Mavericks recently bought the town of Mustang, a wee place just off Interstate 45, about a ten-minute drive south of Corsicana. The entire town. Why did he do this?

Mark Cuban grabbed headlines after he bought an entire town in Navarro County, Texas just because “a buddy needed to sell it.” According to Dallas News, the 63-year-old purchased the virtually empty town with a population of merely 23 people.

Cuban told the Morning News, “I don’t know what if anything I will do with it,”  he only bought the town because a good friend did not want it anymore.

Cuban now controls all 77 acres of the Navarro County, Texas, community.
Mike Turner, the real estate broker who listed Mustang, told the Houston Chronicle, “There was a strip club there called Wispers that has since permanently closed. There was a killing there, the business had quite a tale.”

Google Maps showed the name of the Wispers club had been edited to “Mark Cubaret” on Friday.

Mustang was founded in the early 1970s, known as a local watering hole in the dry Navarro County. Little has developed in the area since its founding.

It’s not clear how much Cuban actually paid for the town, but it was listed for sale at about $4 million in 2017.

“I had a fair amount of interest in it, but it was priced too high — even when we bought it down to $2 million,” Dallas real estate broker Mike Turner told the Morning News. “The old strip club is not in good repair, but it could be redone for something.

“There is a resident alligator in one of the ponds.”

The population of Mustang peaked at 47 in 2000 but has since dropped to around 21, U.S. census data showed.
