Now, the violence supported by leftist liberals has been overwhelming that a pro-life women’s medical clinic in California has to spend $150,000 to boost its security.
Heidi Matzke, executive director of the Alternatives Pregnancy Center in Sacramento, California, told a Senate hearing on July 12.
“Pregnancy care centers from coast to coast are being targeted for violent assaults of vandalism, and hateful attacks online and in the media.”
“Just last week,” she added, “a man approached our care center with an armed machete.”

A California-based crisis pregnancy center hired security after a man showed up at its doors armed with a machete, the center’s president revealed in testimony to the Senate Judiciary Committee Tuesday.
Alternatives Pregnancy Center has taken increased safety measures to respond to this and other threats of violence the clinic has received, including arming staff members and shutting down its mobile clinic, according to testimony from the center’s president, Heidi Matzke.
“Just last week … a man approached our care center with an armed machete. We have been forced to hire 24-7 on-site security. We’ve had to reinforce doors and bulletproof our walls,” she said.
Heidi Matzke was testifying before the US Senate on the consequences of the US Supreme Court overturning Roe v. Wade.
During the hearing, Matzke talked extensively about what her clinic offers.
“We offer pregnancy tests, ultrasounds, [and] prenatal care up to 24 weeks. We offer abortion pill reversal services, abortion recovery counseling, and parenting classes.”
“When a woman comes in so afraid of what an unplanned pregnancy will mean for her life, her ambitions, her relationships, we do not urge her in that moment to make any decision. We listen. We try to hear her heart. We offer professional services and emotional support.”
“Whether she chooses parenting, adoption, or abortion, we will continue to be there for her for years if necessary.”
