A creepy peeping Tom clearly messed with the wrong mama, after she caught him prowling outside her Texas home.
According to reports, Phyllis Pena was returning from the grocery store on January 31 when first she spotted the strange man peering into the window of her 15-year-old daughter’s bedroom. Naturally, she called the police for help — but when the suspect tried to evade officers, Pena took matters into her own hands.
Responding to a 911 call, officers found a male matching the suspect’s description in the vicinity. He took off running, according to a Wednesday statement, then “ran back towards the caller,” who was standing in her front yard.
A dashboard camera captured Pena rushing forward onto the sidewalk, then wrapping both arms around the man as he tried to run past her.
Pena pulled the man to the ground just in front of the police vehicle and held him for a few seconds until officers ran over to help.
“My kids are my life” and “[my] first instinct was just to make sure he didn’t go any further,” Pena tells KPRC. “The cop fist-bumped me and he was like, ‘Hey, so I heard the Texans are looking for a new linebacker.'”
NFL analyst Lance Zierlein was certainly impressed. “Feisty. Quick to step downhill and cut off the angle,” he tweeted.
The creepy guy was later identified as 19-year-old Zane Hawkings.
According to AWM, her tackle was so professional she attracted the notice of a football recruiter and coach.
“Okay, I’m a football recruiter and technique coach, and I’m definitely recruiting her to teach my recruits how to properly “Two Step” tackle. She wrapped up her opponent and used her body to take him down. And she used her “Hammer Arm” to stop her opponent/pervert, so he wasn’t even a threat to him. Good job, mom. I’m glad everything is going well, and as a father of a teenage girl, I will bow to you.”
Whoa, great tackle mom! Perfect form! Great positioning too! Love how she strafes a little bit as she sees him coming and times the takedown to absolute perfection. Better than most of what we saw at the Super Bowl last Sunday. And she did it without shoulder pads too!
Let’s hope the peeping Tom hit his head hard enough to forget what he saw. Should have known he was messing with the world’s most badass mum just from the fact she’d gone to the shops and back by 7 am. Pretty militant if you ask me.
