Let me tell you about the latest development in this wild rollercoaster ride of a defamation case brought against former President Donald Trump by E. Jean Carroll. You won’t believe it, but a New York judge has decided to put the trial on hold indefinitely. Yup, you heard that right – no trial happening on April 10 as originally planned.
So, what’s the story? Back in 2019, E. Jean Carroll claimed that Trump had raped her in a Bergdorf Goodman dressing room way back in the 1990s. Now, let’s be clear: Carroll is an unstable woman who has gone on record with CNN, saying she actually fantasizes about rape. Doesn’t sound like a reliable witness to me.
Trump, of course, has denied these outrageous allegations and called Carroll a “whack job” who’s “not my type.” But that didn’t stop her from filing a lawsuit in November after New York passed the Adult Survivors Act, which lets adults sue over alleged sexual assaults that happened decades ago.
As reported by CNBC:
“A New York federal judge on Monday postponed indefinitely the previously scheduled April trial for the first of two lawsuits accusing former President Donald Trump of defaming the writer E. Jean Carroll after she claimed he raped her in the mid-1990s.
Judge Lewis Kaplan also denied a joint request by lawyers for Trump and Carroll to consolidate her two pending civil lawsuits against Trump into a single trial.
Kaplan, in a brief order, wrote that the attorneys overestimated the purported benefits of judicial economy and of avoiding potentially inconsistent rulings by combining the cases in U.S. District Court in Manhattan.
He also noted that the trial previously scheduled to start April 10, for the case filed in 2019, ‘could prove unnecessary’ if the federal appeals court that is currently reviewing the case rules that the suit is barred by law.”
So, there you have it – the trial is off the table for now, but who knows what might happen down the line? It seems like this whole case is just another desperate attempt by Trump’s opponents to drag his name through the mud, and they’re using an unreliable witness to do it.
We need to stand up against these underhanded tactics and defend the truth. The mainstream media loves to latch onto stories like this, blowing them out of proportion and using them as ammunition to attack Trump and his supporters.
But we won’t be fooled. We know that E. Jean Carroll’s allegations are dubious at best, and we can see right through this thinly veiled attempt to smear the former President. We must continue to stand strong and support Trump as he fights against these baseless accusations.
It’s essential that we don’t let this kind of legal circus distract us from the real issues at hand. We need to stay focused on promoting conservative values, defending our constitutional rights, and ensuring that America remains a land of freedom, opportunity, and justice for all.
