Joe Biden Just Announced His Commitment To Fighting Food Shortages…..In LATIN AMERICA?

Uncategorized

Joe may not get the concept of America First. He came close, but he didn’t quite make it.

The Biden Administration, in a report by The Daily Wire, is doing its part to tackle food shortages in America—Latin America. Biden and his colleagues have pledged $331 million in food security and humanitarian relief to Latin American countries. A little reminder for Joe: we’re having some problems at home as well.

According to a White House statement:

“This contribution will complement the United States’ existing commitment to provide life-saving humanitarian assistance, respond to acute food insecurity, and advance capacity-building activities that bolster disaster preparedness and response” in Latin America and the Caribbean.

The total aid package amounts to $645 million and includes support for ‘refugee and migrant populations,’ as well as cooperative efforts on ‘climate-smart economic reform,’” DW outlet reported.

The publication added that in recent research from the International Food Policy Research Institute, market prices for food and fertilizer soared by 125 percent from January 2021 to January 2022, then spiked again after Russia invaded Ukraine.

Beyond the Western hemisphere, African countries such as Kenya and Ethiopia, which were already dealing with drought and livestock fatalities, are now experiencing exacerbated shortages as food prices rise globally. Aside from agriculture, Russia generates 11% of the world’s oil, resulting in increased prices for farmers due to decreasing oil supplies due to the Ukraine conflict.

The White House statement said:

“One-third of the world’s food is produced in the Americas, and the current global food crisis is an opportunity and responsibility for the region to step up to supply a greater share of the world’s commodities. The United States will commit during the Summit to work together to increase food production for export, increase fertilizer production and transportation, and to improve agriculture efficiency through technical solutions and information exchanges.”

Well, of course, being a mentally incompetent fake president that’s what you’ll do, working on efforts to worsen food shortages around the country and have the audacity to help other countries. Very good job!
