According to police, the vest was stolen from the offices of the Ukrainian Congress Committee of America and the Ukrainian National Women’s League of America on Manhattan’s Second Avenue.

Around 9:15 a.m., police arrived. Sgt. Edward Riley of the New York City Police Department responded to a burglary call and “were informed that approximately 400 bulletproof vests had been removed from the location.”

Vicki DiStefano, a spokesperson for Suffolk County Sheriff Errol Toulon Jr. said:

“It is despicable that someone would break into a building to steal supplies and materials intended to aid those affected by this humanitarian crisis.”

“We offer the NYPD any assistance it needs in locating these stolen items.”

Officials said the items were most likely to be used by civilian security and medical teams, including citizens who had joined the fight against the Russian military, rather than Ukrainian soldiers.

  1. This is what happens when you have crooked democrats in charge that don’t enforce the laws. You ain’t never gonna see those vests again unless they are on some crook during a robbery or assault.
