Federal Judge on Donald Trump: “He Could Be A Sitting President Again”

On Thursday, a federal appeals judge considering whether Donald Trump should be forced to hand up to his tax returns to Congress suggested that he could run for president again, which could be a factor in the case.

Judge Karen Henderson of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit said, “We have a situation that involves a sitting President and a former President, If this drags out, for all we know he could be a sitting president again.”

The judge made her remarks during a hearing as part of a three-judge panel examining whether a lower federal court got it right by tossing Trump’s attempt to block the House Ways and Means Committee from getting access to his personal and business tax records from the IRS, according to Coservativebrief.

In a prospective 2024 contest, Donald Trump leads Vice President Joe Biden by three points, according to a McLaughlin & Associates poll released on Thursday.

Trump received 49 percent of the vote, compared to 46 percent for Biden, a three-point gap.

In a hypothetical 2024 general election, Trump would beat Kamala Harris by eight points (50-42%), and Hillary Clinton by ten points (51-41%).

Trump’s general election polling reflected his primary polling. Sixty-eight percent of Republican primary voters said they wanted to see Trump run for president again. Just 20 percent opposed Trump’s potential reelection campaign.
