Uncategorized

A group of young men came to Dallas from East Texas last month to celebrate a birthday, but not all of them would go back home.

Unfortunately, no one has been arrested for a murder that took place outside a bar on Dallas’ Lower Greenville Avenue last month, specifically happened in the early hours of March 18.

Now, according to new reports, investigators are seeking to question Dallas Cowboys cornerback Kelvin Joseph in connection with a murder that took place in Dallas last month.

Attorney Barry Sorrels confirmed to FOX 4 that Dallas Cowboys cornerback Kelvin Joseph was sitting in the suspect’s vehicle when the shots were fired, but Sorrels added that Joseph was not the shooter and was unarmed.

More details of this story from The Dallas Morning News report:

Dallas police want to interview a Dallas Cowboys player in connection with a murder last month in Old East Dallas, multiple sources with knowledge of the investigation told The Dallas Morning News.

Cornerback Kelvin Joseph was involved in a disturbance March 18 outside a bar in the 3600 block of Greenville Avenue, at Martel Avenue, the same night that Cameron Ray, 20, was fatally shot there, according to multiple sources. Ray was shot about 2 a.m. outside the OT Tavern, and taken to a hospital, where he died.

Cowboys officials have encouraged Joseph to speak with police about what he knows, according to a team source who was not authorized to speak publicly on the matter. Cowboys officials do not believe Joseph is the shooter.

The Cowboys declined comment Thursday evening. Joseph’s attorney also declined comment.

Joseph, who also goes by the rapper pseudonym “YKDV Bossman Fat,” was a second-round pick in the 2021 draft following his college career at LSU and Kentucky.

The outlet added:

After the fight ends, Ray and his friends walk across the parking lot, and someone opens fire at them from inside a vehicle passing by, footage shows.

Ray was visiting Dallas with three friends to have fun for a weekend, detective Tonya McDaniel told FOX4 earlier this week. He and his friends were not responsible for causing the disturbance, and police had been working to identify the group seen in the bar, including the man in the necklace, McDaniel told the station.
