Barack Obama has shown time and time again that he has absolutely no respect for the military or for war veterans. Because of this, it’s become risky for entertainers to defy him by making moves to support military veterans.
Luckily, there’s still celebrities like Carrie Underwood out there who aren’t afraid to put their careers at risk to support our troops.
Fox News reported that one week before Veteran’s Day, honored 700 military families with a private concert on board the Carnival Vista cruise ship. Underwood, who is an ambassador for Carnival Cruise Line through their partnership with Operation Homefront, performed for one hour and sang songs from her “Storyteller Tour.”
The country music icon said she’s proud to be a part of the cruise line’s effort to honor military family members and veterans.
“We did have a lot of families come out to see us when we were on the road and I got to meet a lot of them,” Underwood said.
Underwood added that she’s never taken a cruise herself, simply because her and her husband Mike Fisher’s schedules are too hectic for a vacation.
“We don’t get to take too many vacations because both of our schedules are just crazy but we try to take little mini ones here and there,” she said.
We applaud Carrie Underwood for taking the time to do something truly amazing for our nation’s veterans. SHARE this story if you stand with Carrie Underwood!
