Members of rival motorcycle gangs were involved in a shooting on the northbound US-95 Freeway at College Drive on Sunday, according to the Henderson Police Department.

The preliminary investigation indicates that those involved are all members or affiliates of rival “Outlaw Motorcycle Gangs (OMG’s),” the Hells Angels, and the Vagos.

Here’s what Henderson police said in a press release announcing the arrests:

“Preliminary investigation indicates that the involved subjects are all members or affiliates of rival Outlaw Motorcycle Gangs.”

Police said the Hells Angels and the Vagos were the two groups involved in the confrontation on the northbound freeway at College Drive. Police were called to the scene at 11:50 a.m. “to discover multiple subjects who had sustained gunshot wounds,” police said.

Six people with gunshot wounds were transported to a local hospital to be treated for their injuries. Two of those people were said to be in critical condition.

Investigators identified three suspects involved in the incident: Richard Devries, 66, Stephen Alo, 46, and Russell Smith, 26. Police say the three men were taken into custody and booked into Henderson Detention Center on the following charges:

  • 6 counts of Attempt Murder with a Deadly Weapon
  • 6 counts Battery with use of a Deadly Weapon causing Substantia Bodily Harm(criminal gang enhancement)
  • 6 counts Discharge Gun at/into Occupied Structure/Vehicle (criminal gang enhancement)
  • 1 count Conspiracy to Commit Murder with Deadly Weapon

The suspects’ possible links with one other and the motorcycle gangs they referenced were not immediately revealed by police.

“As this is an open investigation, no further details will be released at this time,” the statement said.

While police investigated, traffic on US 95 was held down for many hours. According to authorities, there were road closures from Boulder Highway to Horizon Drive and from Horizon Drive to Pacific Avenue.
