It seems like the left just can’t handle the fact that people might disagree with them. Recently, MSNBC host Katie Phang and Democrat Rep. Eric Swalwell suggested that Fox News be censored and banned from being viewed by our troops. Can you believe that? It’s an attack on our First Amendment rights and should not be tolerated.
Phang made an obligatory disclaimer that “we all respect the First Amendment.” But then she immediately followed it up with a suggestion that there should be “congressional oversight, regulations, some type of gatekeeping” of Fox News. This is unacceptable. It is just another attempt by the left to censor conservative viewpoints and silence those who disagree with them.
Fox News has been a source of news and information for millions of Americans for many years. It is a critical part of our democracy and an integral part of our freedom of speech. Our troops have the right to choose what news sources they consume, and to suggest that they should be deprived of this right is absurd.
Swalwell then suggested that denying troops the freedom to watch Fox News may be necessary if a court rules that the network is “perpetuating dis- and misinformation.” This is a slippery slope that could lead to dangerous censorship. We cannot allow this to happen.
The left’s desire to silence conservative voices is becoming increasingly concerning. Fox News and Tucker Carlson, in particular, have become prime targets of their censorship attempts. Carlson recently released damning footage of the J6 protest and what really happened inside the Capitol. Now, he has a huge target on his back.
It’s time for us to stand up for our rights and refuse to allow the liberal agenda to take away our freedom of speech. Our troops have the right to choose what news sources they consume, and we cannot let anyone take that right away from them. This kind of censorship is unacceptable and goes against everything that we stand for as Americans.
We must continue to fight for our freedom of speech and resist attempts by the left to silence conservative voices. We cannot allow them to censor information to our troops, and we must ensure that our military men and women have the right to choose what news sources they consume. It’s time for us to stand together and defend our First Amendment rights.
