What This Acting Legend Said About Vax Mandates Is Absolutely Perfect!

Now, this is a surprise but at the same time not one if you get what I mean. Typically those that come from the hills of Hollywood lean completely left and when we hear of an actor actually having some common sense it does take you back.

Matthew McConaughey is a Hollywood powerhouse and while he does have liberal leanings he also shows he does have common sense too, making him a unicorn.

Just recently, McConaughey voiced his opposition to vaccine mandates for children which I am sure ticked off the left.

The November 2nd CDC decision to approve the jab for children 5-11 has elicited a strong response from parents and celebrities alike. Even those who were on board with vaccines at the outset have drawn a line in the sand when it comes to their children.

As any parent should.

Particularly when the facts tell us children (unless suffering from a severe condition or illness) are at virtually no risk whatsoever for hospitalization or death from COVID.

Fox News had this story behind McConaughey’s interview:

Speaking at The New York Times’ DealBook summit, the 52-year-old actor expressed hesitancy to require his children to get the vaccine.

“I couldn’t mandate having to vaccinate the younger kids,” he said. “I still want to find out more information. … There will come a time where you’re going to have to roll the dice one way or the other and go: ‘Where are the numbers in my favor?’”

He also shared that as of “right now,” he’s not vaccinating his own children.

“Do I think that there’s any kind of scam or conspiracy theory?” he asked. “Hell no, I don’t.”

He suggested the public “get off” such a “narrative,” insisting that “there’s not a conspiracy theory on the vaccines.”

Health officials have begun to express confidence in the vaccine’s safety for children, and just last week, the CDC authorized Pfizer-BioNTech’s vaccine for emergency use in children ages 5-11. McConaughey noted that “we just said we can vaccinate kids.”

McConaughey, who has floated the idea of running for governor of Texas, said he’s not against vaccines but just wants “more information” about them.

“I’m vaccinated. My wife’s vaccinated,” he stated.

He said that his 90-year-old mother, who is staying with them, is immunocompromised, prompting him to receive the vaccine. He insisted he “chose” to do it rather than do it because he was “told” to.

McConaughey and his wife, model Camila Alves, share three children: Levi, 13, Vida, 11, and Livingston 8.

However, the actor’s hesitancy to vaccinate his children has nothing to do with how seriously he’s taken the pandemic, as he claimed he’d “quarantined harder” than his friends since last year. He also said that his family has utilized a “heavy amount” of coronavirus testing.

“I’m in a position though where I can do that, and I understand that not everyone can do that,” he explained.

Let me be perfectly clear to everyone reading this. I firmly believe in individual liberty, and I also think a lot of people in this nation feel the same way.

We all know that a liberal mindset rather pushes the collective thought process on everyone but that is not what makes us great at all. What makes us great is that we do what is best for us and not for the collective.

When making these choices, you totally examine all facts and weigh the risks based on the personal circumstances of your own health.

If you think that you want the vaccine after researching it then go for it, and if you don’t want to get the vaccine well, don’t. After you have made that choice just do it and leave everyone alone with their personal choice.

It’s that simple. A mandate? Get out of here.

If you believe that the vaccine works then enjoy it but me getting one doesn’t make yours work better.

We cannot take away personal choices from people and then gaslight them telling them that they aren’t being forced to get the vaccine

The article transitions away from vaccine mandates and delves into McConaughey’s thoughts on other topics, notably abortion.

Furthermore, McConaughey addressed Texas’ controversial six-week abortion ban, calling it “overly aggressive.”

“It doesn’t seem to open up the room for a sensible choice to be made at the right time,” the “Dallas Buyers Club” star said. “I believe in this: more responsibility, more personal responsibility to make the right choices. And we got to pick context with each situation, and each person’s situation, each woman’s situation.”

A rep for the star declined to comment.

I disagree with McConaughey on me a sure a lot of issues, but one thing I can agree with him on is there needs to be more personal responsibility.

The government has no right to tell you what you need to do with your children and you as parents, grandparents, aunts, and uncles need to stand up and protect them.

They want to own your children and you are letting them if you allow them to mandate these vaccines.
