A teenage firebrand’s defiant catchphrase catapulted her from a psychologist’s stage into viral fame, but beneath the glitz and glamour, discomfort lurks as she grapples with the ‘creepy’ world of online fandom.
Danielle Bregoli, better known as Bhad Bhabie, ascended to stardom after a noteworthy moment on the Dr. Phil Show went viral. Now, as an OnlyFans star, she has candidly voiced her discomfort about her subscribers on the platform during an episode of the ‘High Low with EmRata’ podcast hosted by Emily Ratajkowski.
The inception of Bhad Bhabie‘s celebrity status can be traced back to an iconic 2016 episode of Dr. Phil, when the then thirteen-year-old openly challenged the renowned host with her infamous catchphrase, “Cash me outside – how ’bout dat.” Her audacious demeanor resonated with young viewers, turning her words into a generational tagline.
At the time, the rebellious youngster was grappling with severe behavioral issues, as reflected in the episode’s title, “I Want to Give Up My Car-Stealing, Knife-Wielding, Twerking 13-Year-Old Daughter Who Tried to Frame Me for a Crime.”
Due to her subsequent admission to the Turn-About Ranch in Escalante, Utah, Danielle didn’t witness her sudden burst into the public eye until months after the episode’s initial airing. It wasn’t until February 2017 that she became aware of the viral video, which was circulating widely online, sparking her journey to fame as Bhad Bhabie.
Bregoli reflected on her confrontational disposition in her younger years, shaped by a difficult upbringing in a single-parent household.
She admitted, “I was a very confrontational person at the time. And I [went online and] was like, ‘Who the f*** you think you are talking to?!’ Like, I’m going in on everybody. Like, ‘You don’t f***ing know me!’”
Her defiant nature has since evolved, with the star now preferring to avoid confrontation at all costs.
Bhad Bhabie confessed, “That’s why, like now, I’m such an unconfrontational person, like, I really hate to be in the mix. I hate to be in bulls***. Even my boyfriend loves being confrontational, so I will be like, ‘No, just calm down. It’s okay. Please leave him alone!’”
Shocking revelations about Bhad Bhabie’s childhood came to light during the podcast. Apparently, her mother had been appealing to Dr. Phil since Bhabie was just a toddler, a fact she didn’t become aware of until she was nineteen. Bhad Bhabie recounted her mother’s personality, saying, “My mom is a very narcissistic person, and, you know, narcissists, they like a crowd figuratively, and literally, they like a crowd.”
Bhabie’s transition into the world of OnlyFans was also touched upon during the podcast. Despite her discomfort and acknowledgment of the platform’s “creepy” aspects, she has resigned herself to it as a means of income.
Recounting her mother’s manipulation and the restrictions on her appearance in her younger years, Bhad Bhabie expressed mixed feelings about her current situation: “I was kept covered up for so long, right, with how they were making me dress and s***. And I was young. It’s creepy, but at the same time… eighteen is eighteen. That’s what they said it was, so that’s what they said it was. Do I think it’s a billion percent okay? No. But at the same time, it’s like if they ain’t going to find it here, they’ll find it somewhere.”
