Rachel Maddow has made a career out of being one of the most unhinged voices against Donald Trump, and her recent meltdown on MSNBC just adds to the pile. For someone in the media who claims to value “free speech” and “democracy,” her rant on Monday night sure showed a lot of the opposite. This time, she called for the government to cut off Elon Musk’s contracts over his supposed “national security risks” because of his ties to Trump. Apparently, in Maddow’s world, simply associating with Trump is grounds for a full-on government takedown.
From Breitbart News, here’s what she had to say: “Even if Trump doesn’t win, the Defense Department and NASA are going to need a new arrangement for all their rockets and for all the multi-billion dollar contracts Elon Musk’s companies have with the U.S. government,” Maddow warned, citing Musk’s association with Trump. She didn’t stop there. Despite Musk’s massive contributions to our space and defense sectors, Maddow argued that it might be time to “unwind” these contracts. Her reason? She claims it’s an “untenable reality in national security terms.”
Well, that didn’t sit well with people. It didn’t take long for social media to fire back, labeling Maddow’s comments for what they really are. Republican Senator Mike Lee, for one, called her out by saying, “These are literally the words of a fascist,” alongside a clip of her rant. Dr. Gad Saad chimed in with some perfect sarcasm: “How dare @elonmusk hold political views that are contrary to those held by @maddow!? In a free society, freedom of thought cannot be tolerated.” And former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee didn’t hold back either, calling Maddow’s remarks a “threat to democracy” and urging voters to make sure Trump returns to the White House.
The truth is, Musk’s SpaceX is doing incredible work for the country. His private company has transformed U.S. space capabilities, deploying defense satellites and transporting astronauts. NASA and the Pentagon rely heavily on his tech for national defense. But Maddow and the radical left can’t seem to handle that Musk backs Trump. They’d rather throw him under the bus than see someone with a different view succeed.
The left talks about tolerance and open-mindedness, but time and time again, they show they’re only open to people who think like they do. The moment someone steps out of line, especially if it’s someone who supports Trump, they get canceled and shunned. Maddow’s tirade is just another example of that hypocrisy, and her obsession with labeling anyone who disagrees as “fascist” backfired in spectacular fashion. Isn’t it funny how the loudest “anti-fascists” end up sounding the most authoritarian?
