The ongoing feud between Prince Harry and the British royal family has taken another turn. Following the publication of his memoir “Spare” earlier this year, in which he took aim at his family, including his brother and father, there were questions about whether he and his wife Meghan Markle would be invited to King Charles III‘s coronation.
Now it has been revealed that the couple has indeed been invited to the royal event, according to a spokesperson for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
However, it is not yet known whether the couple will attend the coronation. The spokesperson said, “An immediate decision on whether The Duke and Duchess will attend will not be disclosed by us at this time.” The coronation will take place on May 6 at London’s Westminster Abbey, and marks Charles’ formal ascension to the throne following the death of his mother, Queen Elizabeth II.
EXCLUSIVE – The King HAS now invited the Duke and Duchess of Sussex to the Coronation but they haven’t decided whether to attend. The invite comes as Harry says sharing his trauma is an “act of service”, using drugs helped him heal and Meghan “saved” him https://t.co/emGpEu5njN

Relations between the royal family and the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have been strained since the couple’s decision to step down from their senior roles in January 2020. Prince Harry’s memoir added fuel to the fire, as he accused the media of destroying his relationship with his family.
He also criticized his family’s dysfunction, writing, “All because a dreadful mob of dweebs and crones and cut-rate criminals and clinically diagnosable sadists along Fleet Street feel the need to get their jollies and plump their profits — and work out their personal issues — by tormenting one very large, very ancient, very dysfunctional family.”
Following the news of the invitation, some have criticized the couple for their behavior.
Megyn Kelly, podcast host, tweeted, “Look at these pathetic money-grubbing spotlight addicts — King Charles invites them to the coronation despite their mean-girl betrayals and it’s ‘we’ll have to think about it.’ As if they have something better to do, and as if they would ever miss the chance to see themselves on cam.” Similarly, foreign policy analyst Nile Gardiner called for Prince Harry to lose his royal title, saying, “It is simply staggering that Prince Harry retains his Royal title as Duke of Sussex. He should be nowhere near the King’s Coronation.”
Regardless of the criticism, it remains to be seen whether Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will attend the coronation. Their decision will likely be watched closely by many, as it could be seen as a reflection of the ongoing tensions between the couple and the royal family.
