Charlie Daniels’ Warning About America From Beyond The Grave Will…

The last few years have been filled with painful losses, and the world of country music was no exception. The genre has endured heartbreak as it claimed the life of our beloved country icon, Charlie Daniels.

But as Charlie passed away in July 2020, his legacy will remain for years to come. His music career spanned over 5 decades, crossing over into several genres of music. He appeared in movies and commercials, and he drew fans of all ages to his concerts. Through all the changes to the culture of music, there was one thing that remained constant, and that was his love and support in America.

Now, Country music star Charlie Daniels’ son discovered that his father was seemingly speaking from the grave about America today, although in 2020 the iconic singer passed away. The well-known country legend Charlie Daniels’ son is Charlie Daniels Jr. When Junior, as he is called, took over his father’s website after his death, he found that his father’s blog articles were curiously still relevant today. In one of those posts, Charlie begins by quoting 2 Thessalonians 3:10, which states that “The one who is reluctant to work shall not eat,” which is on Labor Day in 2015.

“We came up in a society where work ethic was honed and drilled into young folks’ heads from the time they could walk. It was well understood that, once you took your feet out from under your mother’s table, you were on your own, nobody was going to give you anything, that the only way you would survive would be by the sweat of your brow,” Charlie said.

“I’ve picked cotton, cropped tobacco, pulled peanuts, worked in the log woods, and am no stranger to backbone jobs and I consider it a blessing knowing what truly hard physical work is all about. I wanted my son to know the same thing and in his early teens put him to work cleaning out horse stalls in the barn,” Charlie said as he then reminisced about America back in the days when he was growing up.

In 2015, while Barack Obama was still in the White House, Charlie wrote, “It seems that under the current administration self-reliance, personal responsibility, work ethic and the other traits that made America into the nation it is, or was, (that’s a subjective issue) have been traded in for dependence on the government.” and a ‘blame all your problems on some outside force, the world owes me a living’ attitude,” as the country singer continued by blaming the government for some of the current issues.

The Devil Went Down to Georgia singer lamented the status of American youth in another post. Charlie Daniels wrote:

“The mind-washed kids who have had their mental processes warped by some revolutionist college professor who regards [Saul] Alinsky and Karl Marx as prophets who indoctrinate young minds with the lies about America and white people being the cause of all the planet’s problems and need to be stripped of their place in the world.”

He added, “Then there’s the mindless bunch who have no idea what they are protesting, just along for the ride, such as the young lady who was recently asked if she believed a statue of Winston Churchill in London should be removed, she replied, ‘I haven’t personally met him…’ ‘Nuff said.”

“So, America if you don’t want to live in a society-run amuck if you don’t want to have an armed escort to go to the grocery store, if you want peace and stability in your life, support our police, and do it now, while it counts so much.” Charlie also said, upset about those who demonize our police forces.

Charlie was a devoted Christian above all else.

“My point folks is that this world gets more evil, more dangerous, more immoral, and more willing to call good evil and evil good every day. It should be no surprise to those who read and believe the Bible because it tells us of a day when just such a thing will happen, and the truly scary thing is, it ain’t gonna get no better, it’s only going to get worse,” he wrote in one blog post.

Charlie Daniels made his final post on July 3, 2020, while reflecting on the Fourth of July (our Independence Day). He truly loved this country and trusted hard-working Americans to do the right thing. In the end, Charlie Daniels remained optimistic about America.

His song My Beautiful America beautifully captured those sentiments. As Charlie said:

“This year, as we celebrate the 244th birthday of the greatest nation the world has ever known, we are beset with many problems, some of our making and some we have no control over. But, be that as it is, America is still the greatest and I want to express my personal feelings about our beloved country.”

This then is America!

The land God blesses with everything

And no Eiffel Tower: no Taj Mahal,

No Alps, No Andes

No native hut, nor Royal Palace –

Can rival her awesome beauty,

Her diverse population, her monolithic majesty.

America the Free

America the Mighty

America the Beautiful

He offered wise counsel in one of his last remarks about the future of America,

“Until America starts electing leaders who are willing to take the responsibility of their own actions.” He wrote, “And the actions of those under their command there will never be street-level justice in America.”

And, along with some wisdom, that still applies today, he then offered a bit of a warning, he said, “Don’t give your vote to some jaded old charlatan or attractive young firebrand with skin-deep abilities and commitments. Measure twice, cut once. Pray for our troops, our police, and the peace of Jerusalem. God bless America.”
