‘Mannequin Challenge’ Leads to Guns and Drug Arrests

Crime

After this ‘mannequin challenge’ made its rounds on the internet, it peeked the interest of local police. There were several people in the video re-enacting a drive by shooting, all packing some serious heat. This is what caused local authorities to do an investigation, they wanted to be sure that this group wasn’t a threat to public safety.

From Fox 2 Now:

Authorities arrested 49-year-old Kenneth White and charged him with first-degree possession of marijuana and certain persons forbidden to possess a firearm. He has a bond of $30,000.

“In order to receive the ‘certain persons forbidden to possess a firearm,’ you must be convicted of a felony,” Capt. Mike Salomonsky said.

“Upon his arrival at the main facility after his incarceration, he was found to have marijuana on his person. So that brought about the additional charge which is a felony on him,” Capt. Mike Salomonsky said of Brown’s contraband charge.

Investigators also arrested 23-year-old Terry Brown and charged him with possession of drug paraphernalia, loitering and promoting prison contraband.

I guess they’ll think next time before posting a video on social media displaying all of their paraphernalia, especially when they are convicted felons.
