We must stand against the encroachment of progressive ideologies that threaten the sanctity of our defense institutions. As a case in point, consider Representative Matt Gaetz (R-FL), who has courageously positioned himself against the Pentagon’s leap towards the embrace of woke concepts.
Under the direction of General Milley, the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, our military is being indoctrinated with concepts of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI), and numerous other left-leaning initiatives that have no place in a military institution.
The extent of this leftward drift became clear when Gaetz and fellow lawmakers uncovered something truly disturbing: drag queen story hours and all-ages drag shows taking place on our military bases. Imagine the shock – events more suitable for late-night clubs being performed within our military fortresses, places meant to represent discipline, honor, and patriotism.
When confronted with this unsettling reality during a Congressional hearing, Milley feigned ignorance, claiming he neither knew of nor endorsed such events on military bases. However, the truth is either Milley didn’t act on the matter or chose to ignore it. Because recently, Gaetz brought to Milley’s attention another ‘child-friendly’ drag show occurring at the Nellis Air Force Base in Southern Nevada.
Gaetz even went to the extent of furnishing Milley with a file filled with proof of drag shows aimed at children, compiled after the hearing. Gaetz’s recent letter to Milley provides evidence of five more such inappropriate instances happening on military bases.
In Gaetz’s words: “Please provide answers to all questions posed in this letter and clarification on whether any punitive action has or will be taken against individuals who facilitated drag events with taxpayer dollars by June 12, 2023.”
Gen. Milley asked @RepMattGaetz to give him the articles the congressman referenced on drag queen story hours and shows on military bases, claiming he was unaware of them.

Now, ask yourself this: are these the values that our military, funded by the hard-earned money of American taxpayers, should embrace and promote?
Breitbart adds to this narrative: “Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) is demanding to know from Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Army Gen. Mark Milley why drag queen shows and story hours are still happening on military bases — something they both testified they do not support.”
In a letter penned to Austin and Milley, Gaetz highlights an upcoming ‘family-friendly’ drag event scheduled to take place at Nellis Air Force Base on June 1, stating that this latest assault on our children is disturbingly advertised as having ‘no minimum age requirement.’
During a hearing in March, Gaetz challenged both Austin and Milley on their stand regarding these events. At first, both feigned ignorance but eventually admitted they did not support such events. The question remains: if they indeed do not endorse these shows, why are such displays still allowed within our military bases?
This whole episode is a stark reminder of how far-left ideologies are seeping into the institutions that defend our nation. It is critical that we put a halt to this alarming trend, protecting the core values and discipline of our military, and shielding our children from these inappropriate influences. We must resist this liberal wave and fight for the respect and honor that our military bases symbolize.
