He didn’t start quoting Stalin, Mao, or Hitler, at least.
On Wednesday, Joe Biden told a Swiss audience that Americans relinquish their liberties to the government.
Democrats would love it if this were true!
The president made the remarks during a news conference in which he screamed at a woman and then laid his jacket on the ground.
Joe Biden: You heard me say this before, again and again. I’m going to keep saying it. What’s that idea. We don’t derive our rights from the government. We possess them because we’re born. Period. And we yield them to a government.
Like what? We “yield” our rights “to a government”?
Wait… what’s the purpose of a written constitution or a bill of rights if the people whose rights they purport to protect must ultimately surrender them to their government?
The president is in need of a civics lesson, unfortunately.
“Another area we spent a great deal of time on was cyber and cybersecurity,” Joe Biden continued. “I talked about the proposition that certain critical infrastructure should be off-limits to attack. Period. By cyber or any other means. I gave them a list, if I’m not mistaken — I don’t have it in front of me — 16 specific entities; 16 defined as critical infrastructure under U.S. policy, from the energy sector to our water systems.”
So He handed them a 16-item list. The president is in need of teaching once more, this time in the domain of national sovereignty.
So, what about the other entities? Is it now free-for-all on them? Conservative commentator Noah Pollak called it “one of the most awful episodes in American diplomatic history.”
Well, that’s right.
