Active people always find something to do, even when they are supposed to be resting or not doing anything.
My father is like that. He was able to retire when he was in his early sixties and for about a year he sat around thinking that he was supposed to be doing nothing when he had an idea for a project that he continues on to this day.
He built a movie theater in a nursing home. With the help of some local contractors, he built a forty seat theater in a nursing home that looked exactly like one you might have found around the early 50s or so, and plays old movies in it so the folks that are stuck there feel like they have somewhere to go.
Just because you aren’t supposed to be doing something doesn’t mean you can’t do something.
Yesterday, the rumors of President Trump initiating a new political party were squelched in a statement by senior Trump adviser Jason Miller, who explained that former President Trump “has made clear his goal is to win back the House and Senate for Republicans in 2022,” and that he has no intention of starting a Patriot Party.
President Trump may not be starting his own political party, but that doesn’t mean that he’s going to walk away from his massive list of supporters. Instead of going away and accepting what may believe was an illegitimate election, President Trump is using the power of his popularity to organize and carry on with his America First agenda.
Washington Times reports – Mr. Trump established the new office in Palm Beach County, Florida, where his Mar-A-Lago estate is located to “carry on the agenda of the Trump Administration through advocacy, organizing, and public activism,” a press release from the new office said.
The office gives the ex-president a formal vehicle to coordinate future public appearances, statements and official activities. The office might be especially valuable since he is banned from the social-media outlets he had used to great effect while president.
This afternoon, an email, with a statement from “45 Office” was sent to millions of Trump supporters:
Statement from the Office of the Former President
Palm Beach County, Florida —Today, the 45th President of the United States, Donald J. Trump, formally opened the Office of the Former President.
The Office will be responsible for managing President Trump’s correspondence, public statements, appearances, and official activities to advance the interests of the United States and to carry on the agenda of the Trump Administration through advocacy, organizing, and public activism.
President Trump will always and forever be a champion for the American People.
President Trump’s bold move to keep millions of his supporters engaged is brilliant, while Joe Biden can barely find 3,000 people interested in listening to one of his speeches.
