Hold On To Your Hats, Biden Just Actually Said Something Sensible!

Uncategorized

I don’t usually give credit to Joe Biden that easy knowing his track record of endless suffering he caused to Americans.

But this time, he actually said something sensible, it might be the first time I heard since he was installed in the WH.

On Wednesday, a fact sheet released by the White House revealed Biden’s plan to call on Congress to suspend the federal gas tax through September. A  three-month pause to the federal gas tax to contend with “Putin’s Price Hike.”

The fact sheet begins by blaming Putin and the war in Ukraine as the reason for the most recent surge in gas prices. It says, “The price of gas is up dramatically around the world, and by almost $2 per gallon in America since Putin began amassing troops on the border of Ukraine.”

The federal government imposes a gas tax of $0.184 per gallon of gasoline and $0.244 per gallon of diesel, according to the U.S. Energy Information Administration. Biden is asking for a suspension of the tax through September without interruptions to the $10 billion required to bankroll the Highway Trust Fund.

Our friends from the WLT shared some key points of this story:

Actual producers of a critical energy source are making less of a profit margin on their hard work while the bureaucratic parasites in this country, who produce absolutely nothing of value, are raking it in.

And what are they doing with these windfall profits? They’re sending them to hellholes like Ukraine—a corrupt country run by a thug in a tracksuit.

Only in Ukraine could upwards of 17,000 foreign-supplied anti-tank munitions mysteriously vanish while Zelenskyy continues to ask for more weapons. To put this in perspective, the U.S. and Russia collectively have roughly 18,000 tanks.

Biden recently asked Congress to temporarily suspend the federal gasoline tax; I want to do one better: eliminate it entirely—forever and permanently.

Stop robbing Americans at gunpoint through multi-tiered taxing. We are taxed on our income, every item we buy, every investment we make, the property we hold—we are even taxed when we die.

Enough is enough. Taxation is theft and the way forward is the elimination of virtually all taxes, save a simple one-time sales tax on most items, with a corresponding 90% drop in government spending.

As for the petrol problem? The Biden admin could solve that problem overnight by approving at least some of the nearly 4,500 pending applications to drill for oil.

All that being said, at least the resident-in-chief said something that actually points to a deeper truth. It won’t solve the present energy crisis, but it is a problem.

Here’s more on the story:

According to Newsmax, “A suspension of the 18.4 cents per gallon federal gasoline tax and 24.4 cent diesel tax would require congressional approval, likely making Biden’s pitch largely symbolic.”

In a recent Breitbart article, Tim Scott explains why suspending the gas tax won’t solve the larger energy crisis:

What we need is to have certainty and predictability so that those energy producers feel like they can invest billions of dollars to extract the energy from the soil so that we can use it in our tanks.

Without that certainty and predictability, without restarting the Keystone XL pipeline, all we’re doing is playing a game of moving things around, but not actually impacting the marketplace long term.”

Americans can be sure this is only temporary relief because the White House memo wraps up by reaffirming Biden’s position as an enemy of fossil fuels.

It states that he is committed to the “long-term efforts to transition our economy away from fossil fuels produced by autocrats and to clean energy.”
