WH Press Secretary Says WWII Vets Should Set Aside Their ‘Personal Bitterness’ Over Pearl Harbor Attacks

Get over it! Is basically what White House Press Secretary, Josh Earnest said Monday at the daily White House press briefing. Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe announced that he would be the first Japanese leader to visit the Hawaiian naval station since it was bombed by Japan on Dec. 7, 1941. According to Earnest, the Veterans of Pearl Harbor should set aside their “personal bitterness”  recognizing how important this moment is to the USA.

From The Blaze:

“If I were a World War II veteran who was drafted by the United States military to go and fight for our country overseas in the aftermath of the Pearl Harbor attack, I might feel quite embittered,” Earnest said. “And I think it would be a perfectly natural and understandable human reaction to not be particularly satisfied with the words of the Japanese Prime Minister.”

But, Earnest said those people who feel “personal bitterness” should set aside their feelings for the greater good of the U.S.

“And so, yes, there may be some who feel personally embittered,” he added. “But I’m confident that many will set aside their own personal bitterness, not because they’re personally satisfied by the words of the Prime Minister, but because they recognize how important this moment is for the United States.”

Veterans are having a hard time taking this “advice” from a man in a suit who has never been in the position to put his life on the line for his country and then told to get over it. What are your thoughts?

  1. MY THOUGJHTS ON THIS….EARNEST IS A DAMN ANTI AMERICAN PUSSY AND KNOWS NOTHING ABOUT PATRIOTISM AND LOOSING YOUR LIFE OR THE LIFE OF A LOVED ONE FIGHTING FOR YOUR COUNTRY! HE SHOULD JUST GET THE HELL OUT OF AMERICA..PERHAPS AFGHANISTAN WOULD BE A GOOD CHOICE.

  2. That is why we need a mandatory draft,so the youths can experience what war is all about, Evedently they don’t learn anything in school.

  3. For eight long years I have felt like I have a hunk of dog shit on the bottom of my shoe and I’m finally going to get to scrape it off with pleasure. And idiots like his press sec. can go out and try to find a real job.

  4. Never met a single WWII vet who expressed the slightest bitterness at being asked to served. They served because they saw it as their duty to protect their country, their family, their values and way of life. Never met one that took any personal credit either. These fine men saved western civilization. And twits like Earnest and Obama absolutely have no clue. This administration is an insult to everything American and every single one who served in uniform. They are an abomination to human sacrifice, valor and dignity of the American fighting man and woman.

  5. He was probably never in the military. To hell with him. Experiences in the military follow you the rest of your life, and can’t be “gotten over”, no matter what a punk in a suit says.

  6. Earnest still wipes his nose on his sleeve….a eunich Obama puppet …… he would be the soldier that would cry and call for mommy if he was ever in danger !!!!!!
