Trump Meets With Healthcare Executives Over Department of Veteran Affairs

President Obama’s record for the Department of Veteran Affairs is a miserable failure, and thousands of American veterans have paid the price.

Despite the fact that the VA’s top leadership was replaced, and Congressional funding increased, the wait times for veterans to get health care actually increased.

Under Obama the VA has had a complete lack of accountability, and due to this standard, a growing toxic environment/culture that lead to stories of VA employees engaged in almost daily misconduct.

Donald Trump has shown America that he really means to do what he promised in his campaign. He is serious about helping our veterans get the health care they desperately need. One can only imagine how a President Hillary Clinton would have dodged the VA question over the next four years. Those who voted for Donald Trump are getting what they voted for; a man who does what he said he would do and actually cares about the problems our veterans have been facing for far too long.

From Conservative101:

Trump has always stated that veteran’s in our country are treated like 3rd class citizens and that he was going to do something about it. Now it looks like he is following through with his promise.

Trump met with healthcare executives to seriously talk about fixing the Department of Veteran Affairs. These included John Noseworthy, the President and CEO of Mayo Clinic, Paul Rothman, the CEO of Johns Hopkins Medicine, Dr. David Torchiana of Partners HealthCare and Toby Cosgrove of Cleveland Clinic.

“I’ve been saying we have to take care of our vets. We are working on something to make it great for our veterans, because they are treated very, very unfairly,” Trump said in an interview after.

He shared some of his ideas. “We think we have to have kind of a… public-private option, because some vets love the VA,” He thinks vets should “definitely an option on the table to have a system where potentially vets can choose either or, or all private.”

He also said that he doesn’t “want to veterans waiting in line for weeks. And you know in many cases they have a minor illness and it takes so long that it turns out to be a major illness and beyond that.” Are you glad that Trump is doing something to help our veterans. Obama will not like this plan.
